Job Description: 

Futurism is offering an exciting 12-week fellowship program based in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn for a smart recent graduate interested in Marketing, Digital Sales, and Business Development. During this 12-week program, the Sales and Business Development Fellow will learn the fundamentals of digital media and brand sales and will help grow revenue with our burgeoning media sales organization. The Fellow’s core responsibilities will be to handle outbound prospecting of new clients and close inbound leads. Additionally, the sales fellow will help brainstorm creative ideas and work on pitches for larger, marquee clients with the business development manager, creative director, strategic accounts manager and chief revenue officer.


The Fellowship Program will be a paid position that lasts twelve (12) weeks, starting on a date mutually agreed to by Fellow and Futurism upon accepting their offer. Upon completion of the program, the fellow will have an opportunity to receive a full-time offer based on current team needs and program performance.



  • Identify opportunities and generate leads from various third party audience reporting platforms (MediaRadar, SellerCrowd, LinkedIn, etc.) as well as other science and tech digital media properties.

  • Gain an understanding of digital media and the digital advertising landscape in order to speak confidently about our advertising products within this context.

  • Manage a high volume pipeline and consistently close new business to meet or exceed team revenue goals.

  • Manage client expectations to foster long-term partnerships and maintain high retention rates.

  • Build presentations, proposals, and models; and negotiate contracts.


  • Proven communication, presentation, phone etiquette, and basic sales skills.

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of sales, planning, or digital media experience preferred (internships count!), with a business-minded focus and drive to learn.

  • Ability to quickly absorb new product information and effectively relay value propositions to prospects and clients.

  • Creative mind with a focus on futuristic technologies, like AI, blockchain, sustainability, biomedical, VR, mobility, etc.

  • Strong analytical skills to collect business intelligence by conversing with clients and monitoring/identifying trends in data.

  • A desire to grow into a seasoned sales person in one of the few growing organizations in media.
